Fast growing VoD movie service Viewster will launch its
innovative Android app for the first time, across 30 European
markets, through a new partnership with Motorola set to go live
during April 2011.
Motorola will carry the Viewster app on the Motorola ATRIX
smartphone as well as on the new Motorola XOOM tablet. The app will
be localized for regional markets, with 5 language versions
available at launch. Viewster will enjoy exclusivity as Motorola's
sole on-demand movie service partner outside of the US.
"Our deal with Motorola is exciting for two reasons," explained
Elizabeth Cowley, SVP Strategic Partnerships of Viewster parent
company Diva AG. "Firstly it allows us to bring to market our
outstanding Android app with a partner whose market footprint is
capable of introducing it at a stroke across Europe. Secondly,
having established strategic relationships with all of the key
manufacturers of connected TVs and hardware, a deal with Motorola
is the perfect way to spearhead the development of our partner
portfolio in mobiles and tablets."
Offline VoD viewing with Viewster Android app.
Motorola mobile device owners will find their on-the-move device
experience heightened by Viewster.
The Viewster app enables offline viewing of movies, allowing them
to be enjoyed while travelling by air or on trains, including those
on underground metro systems. From the perspective of rights
owners, the Viewster platform provides comprehensive copy
protection for content consumed in this way.
Viewster app brings Motorola device owners outstanding viewing
choices.
Viewster offers classic and current Hollywood movies and
award-winning independent films and TV series. Action, comedy,
thriller and other popular genre new release movies are added on a
continuous basis, with some 20 percent of the catalogue being
refreshed each year.
