The catalogue of classic and current Hollywood movies and
award-winning independent films and TV series offered by on demand
movie service Viewster, is among the major attractions launched
this week to users of Toshiba's 'Toshiba Places'.
Toshiba Places, a content and service platform built on the model
of a shopping mall, currently enables Toshiba PC, laptop and
connected TV owners in European territories to access a variety of
offers from quality partner providers.
Viewster will form a centrepiece of the high interest Video Place,
which will be complemented by areas including News Place, Game
Place, App Place and Services Place.
"We are delighted to partner with Toshiba to launch the multi
territory Viewster video on demand service on Toshiba Places", said
Richard Ganter, SVP Strategic Partnerships, Viewster. "Ease of
navigation, and an exceptional movie content offering to suit all
consumer segments will ensure Toshiba's users enjoy seamless access
across multiple devices via Viewster
platforms."
Viewster ready to support Toshiba Places expansion
With its single sign-on, Toshiba Places will expand during 2011 to
include availability in an increasing number of European countries
and via additional Toshiba devices. Viewster's cross platform
delivery, wide territory presence and service localisation make it
an ideal partner to support this expansion.
"Viewster's team have been very responsive to our needs", said
Thomas Teckentrup, General Manager Software and Services, Toshiba
Europe. "They have turned around a customized, cross-platform
service for Toshiba Places within a short time and across multiple
devices. The availability of a localized service in our main
markets is also a true partnership asset to us."
Viewster. Fresh content, plus entertainment for expatriate Toshiba
users.
Viewster adds action, comedy, thriller and other popular genre new
release movies (along with further hit TV series) to its catalogue
on a continuous basis. Some 20 percent of the Viewster catalogue is
refreshed each year, with each title being offered for at least 3
months. As a result, Toshiba Places users will benefit from a
consistently varied and exciting choice of viewing. Wherever
possible, consumers purchasing Toshiba's connected TV's, set top
boxes and other devices will also be able to enjoy Viewster's day
and date releases and free, advertising supported, content.
Users in expatriate communities will also be able to enjoy
Viewster's top quality minority content via Toshiba Places, with
Viewster offering access to outstanding Turkish, Russian and Arabic
movies and drama series.
